Psycho-Educational/School Neuropsychological Evaluation
I specialize in psycho-educational and school neuropsychological assessment for children, adolescents and young adults. Common issues include Learning Disorders (i.e. dyslexia), ADHD, and other social-cognitive and mood disorders. I’m focused specifically on how challenges impact school or work (cognitive, emotional, or behavioral). Once I identify the challenges that get in the way of educational success, I provide clinical (DSM 5) and/or educational (IDEA) diagnoses (if applicable) and recommend targeted strategies, interventions and accommodations to address them.
Testing typically includes the following: Obtaining background history; review of school records; interviews with parents, educators, and the learner; behavior rating scales, direct cognitive, processing, and academic achievement testing (two or three sessions that last between two and three hours each in length), interpretation of test results, a final written report and follow up meeting to review results. Families can expect the final report approximately two weeks after the last date of in-person testing.
*I am qualified to conduct both psycho-educational and school neuropsychological assessment. For the purpose of my practice, once I begin an evaluation, I assess whatever is needed to determine the diagnoses and more importantly, targeted intervention. My assessments are priced at a flat rate that allows me the flexibility without charging the client more money.
